Status Lights

Restart the device by turning the power off and back on, this should resolve most problems with the device.


The “Status” light colour indicates the current status of the device:


Status lightProblemSolutions
Slowly pulsing light blue
None – the device is in normal operation.The device has internet connectivity. If no data is showing after running water, check the input wiring connections.
Slowly pulsing white
The device is in offline operation with correct time (so will turn the water off automatically based on previously configured thresholds).Update the device WiFi credentials to get it back online.
Slowly pulsing orange
The device is in offline operation without correct time (so the alert thresholds will not be as tight as usual).Update the device WiFi credentials to get it back online.
Slowly pulsing purple
The device is in safe mode.Restart the device and re-check the status light.
Flashing dark blue
Device requires WiFi credentials to connect online.
Update the device WiFi credentials to get it online.
If no WiFi is available, use a 3G hotspot/gateway.
Flashing green
Device is attempting to connect to WiFi. With good WiFi signal, this stage should take no more than 10 seconds.
Make sure there is some room around the device. It should be at least 30cm away from metal objects and other electronics. If the status does not change whilst suspended in the middle of the room, then the WiFi signal is too weak.
Try reducing the distance between the device and the WiFi router, or use a WiFi booster.
If there is strong signal, then the WiFi password has been inserted incorrectly – retry registering the device.
Flashing light blue
The device is connected to WiFi and is now trying to send signals over the internet. This stage should take no more than 5 seconds
Check your internet connection. Is there internet access on other devices connected to the same WiFi?
Make sure your firewall is not blocking port 5683.
Flashing purple
The device is updating software. This stage should take no more than 2 minutes.After waiting 5 minutes to complete, restart the device by turning the power off and then on again.
Nothing (or intermittent white)
No power
Short circuit.
Check plug socket is operational by plugging something else in to test.
Remove all cable connections and retry connecting power.
Constant light blue

The device has stalled.This can happen because of weak WiFi or power failure during an update. Restart in safe mode to resume update.
2 orange flashes
Internet connection does not meet requirements.If using a hotspot, check your sim card APN settings.
Flashing red
Hardware problemPlease contact help@flowreporter.com if you experience this. Try recording the number of flashes after the SOS signal (3 short flashes – 3 long flashes – 3 short flashes) which will help us determine the exact fault.
Unrecognised
 issues
Try Factory resetPress the reset button (Setup button) 3 times and it will clear the memory. Then on the next run, it writes configurations to the SD card and Internal memory. Commissioning configuration is kept as default. When it is restarted, the status LED will blink pink once it is in the commissioning configuration.
